A: Yes. please bring in your title drivers and proof of insurance and we will have it back for you the next day. If your vehicle is financed we need you to call the finance company and get your loan number and their fax number .that can take up to a month for them to forward the documents but if you are expired we should be able to get you a temp tag if needed

Q: Are leases more expensive to register than finance vehicles?

A: Actually leases are cheaper to register because their is no impact fee paid on the plate That being said the registration on a lease is more expensive on a yearly basis that a financed or purchased outright vehicle.

Q: When selling my car can I transfer my plate?

A: When a vehicle is sold and the license plate is transferred to a new vehicle, the $225 initial registration fee is not required. If the vehicle is not replaced, the license plate must be turned into the DMV or our office to prevent a driver license suspension. Any previous plates in your name, once surrendered, will remain in the system. If the impact fee was paid can be used on your new vehicle and this may be used to exempt the $225 initial registration fee. The registration if valid will also be transferred and save you on paying for a new registration as well.

Q: What happens if you don’t return license plates in Florida?

A: Failure to surrender a valid license plate when your insurance is cancelled or expires will result in suspension of your liscence. A good rule of thumb in it must be done before 30 days have passed. If your vehicle is sold or junked or totaled turning in your plate is also required. When you dispose of a plate by turning it into florida state insurance and auto tags office you will receive a receipt showing that the plate was surrendered and avoid liscence suspension. We do charge a $20 fee for our service.

Q: When does my registration expire?

A: Automobile registrations issued in a person’s name expire at midnight on the person’s birth date. Registrations issued in a company name are assigned a designated month and the registration expires on midnight on the last day of that month.

Q: When is a late fee applied?

A: The county will allow you a grace period on the late fee till the 10th of the next month on the 11th a late fee will be required for renewal . This does not extend your expiration and after your birthday has passed you are driving with an expired tag and can get issued a citation by local law enforcement.

Q: Can I put my previos plate on my new car until I get it registered?

A: No. that is actually considered a misderminer and will require a court apperance and could result in the towing of your new vehicle.
